So when I asked for the return of that such valued item, I was told that my camera would only return upon one condition: that I eat 1 out of 3 choices from the night market of some crazy food of Heather's choosing... hmmmmm... yes, and I bet you are all thinking exactly what I was thinking:
Heather is going to pick the ugliest, nastiest stuff ever known to the human race.
Well, the prisoner exchange went down like this: I was given the choice of eating unknown chicken parts:

A nearly developed chicken still in the egg (more on this food later):
Or some sketchy meat:

Now, the egg might have seemed the least offensive...however, keep in mind that there is a little baby chic in those eggs that is only moments from hatching, until it is steamed. So, the egg is more like eating a whole chicken; the way the Lao actually eat it is to put a small about of water into the egg (or spittle), mash up the inside, then suck it up through a large straw.
The unknown meat was charred and since I like the taste of charred things, this is what I chose. Turns out it was liver. Here is the video:
A few follow up notes:
1. Apparently, everyone else who was there (Amy W, Russell, Bethany, and Heather) all thought the liver tasted great... and that I shouldn't have complained about eating it.
My response: Um...it was my camera and I don't like liver! At least I didn't like the liver right away. Why don't you eat the liver instead of me?
2. The camera exchange actually took place earlier that day...so, at this point, I am completely on my honor (FOR MY OWN CAMERA) to eat this chunk of mysterious liver meat.
My response: This is like totally for charity at this point!!!
3. I am way too smiley in this video for what's going down.
4. Yes, this was probably good for me to get out and eat something I wasn't used to eating... which leads me to the next post topic (the chicken and the egg). That one coming soon... there are pictures already on googlepics here.
5. And my nose, really really really itched for some reason.
